CENSORED Day 6 Trent

It’s easier to know when enough is enough in person – a glance at a watch, shuffling of feet, lifeless eyes. Here in print I tend to push the limits of conventional blog world wisdom. I’m typically over the suggested 250word limit, which is not to say I don’t do my best to keep a tight reign. But if I’m too net how can I do justice to the characters and stories I encounter? Today I’ve gone free-range and for a reason – I submit to you the Voices at Hand WEEKEND EDITION.

February Get-Aways - Day 5 Trent

Yesterday started off so grey and nondescript I was happy to immerse myself in some recent submissions of letters that coincidentally all spoke of travel. Not just any travel though; I have yet to find a letter that waxes lyrical about a package deal!

But is it Art? Day 4 Trent

I flubbed a line in my artist talk on Friday night. Not to worry, the crowd was too gracious to make any mention; either that or they thought I was being esoteric.  I think it was the former.

Location, Location, Location! - Day 3 Trent

"What’s going on? Do you know what that woman is doing in the atrium with all that stuff?”

The questions weren’t intended for my ears, but it’s hard not to overhear conversations in stairwells. I smiled to myself as I passed the students sizing up my installation. Once I hit the landing and turned to respond their faces dropped — the lovely young woman who had spoken earlier quickly apologized and added, “We didn’t mean to be rude, we are just wondering...” I cut her off and assured her:

“Wondering is exactly what I want people to do!!”

Now THIS Is Fun!

I’ve never been a temptress before, but over the last few days with some help from the likes of Frances Browne Stewart, her kin and some of the other memorable characters I’ve come to know through Voices at Hand I’ve managed to get a taste of what it must be like.
